Plugin License System for WordPress
A licensing backend for commercial WordPress plugins: issue keys, validate activations against per-license limits, and ship secure auto-updates from one dashboard.
The challenge
Commercial WordPress plugins leak revenue without enforcement: one license ends up running on dozens of unlicensed sites, and pushing updates safely to legitimate customers is painful. The client needed a single source of truth for license issuance, activation limits, and updates.
The solution
We built licenses.odesainfo.com: a licensing API that issues keys, validates each activation against a per-license site limit, and serves signed plugin updates only to valid licenses. The data layer runs on MySQL, with an admin dashboard for issuing, revoking, and monitoring licenses.

Each license carries a site cap. When a plugin activates, the API registers the domain and rejects activations beyond the limit, so one key can't run on unlimited sites.
